Hey, I'm Carlos. Welcome
Director of Product | Product Design
I lead world class teams to define, build, and operate world class products - all with the goal of solving impossibly hard problems.
About Me
I've been early to every wave that mattered. Tesla before the mass market, as their first Master Data Analyst. Rivian as employee #246, before the truck existed. Inspiration Mobility as PM #1 — walked in and built a SaaS platform from zero, closed a Fortune 20 in year one.
I'm a product leader who writes SQL in production, deploys MCP servers, and can explain a data model to a board. I close the gap between strategy and execution by actually showing up on both sides.
Approach to Work
Start with the hard problem
I resist the urge to jump to solutions. The real work is defining what you're actually trying to solve — and being honest when the answer changes.
Build to understand
Prototyping is thinking, not decoration. I get something in front of real users fast, because intuition alone doesn't tell you where the product breaks.
Operate what you ship
I stay close to what I build after launch. The product decisions that matter most don't happen in the roadmap — they happen in the data after go-live.

First Master Data Analyst
Established Tesla's Intermountain West delivery operation as the region's first hire — building the foundation for scalable EV delivery in a market the company had no prior presence in.
Created the Master Data Analyst function before the role formally existed — architecting the data infrastructure that enabled delivery operations to scale with Tesla's rapid growth.
Delivered the operational intelligence systems that gave delivery leadership real-time performance visibility — a capability that became standard practice across the region.
Established the data foundations that evolved into Tesla's enterprise data practice across the Western region — shaping how the company approached operational analytics at scale.
Rivian
2019 – 2022
Lead Technical PM · Employee #246
Joined as employee #246 before a single production vehicle existed — defining Rivian's enterprise systems strategy from scratch at a pivotal moment in the company's history.
Conceived and led delivery of Basecamp — a supply chain platform that replaced legacy QAD infrastructure and unified procurement, supplier management, and quality scoring across Rivian's supply chain organization.
Established a single source of truth across PLM, ERP, and custom systems — eliminating fragmented data and giving 75+ buyers and 30+ supplier quality engineers a unified operational view for the first time.
Drove a 95% reduction in manual procurement work — returning 20+ hours per buyer per week and fundamentally changing how Rivian's supply chain team operated.

Founded the product function as PM #1 — defining strategy, architecture, and go-to-market simultaneously to launch a SaaS platform with no prior product foundation.
Secured a Fortune 20, Fortune 200, and Fortune 500 customer in year one — validating enterprise product-market fit at scale.
Drove a company-wide AI transformation in partnership with the CTO and VP, Engineering — shifting organizational culture from AI-curious to AI-native through a structured adoption mandate and enablement strategy.
Defined the company's enterprise AI strategy and governance framework — delivering knowledge agent infrastructure and RAG-enabled workflows while establishing organizational guardrails for responsible AI at scale.
